Ubuntu Netbook Remix - Linux distro for netbooks
July 24, 2008

This year at OSCON, Canonical announced a new distro for netbooks.
This distro is designed to run on atom-based netbooks.
Ubuntu Netbook Remix contains a Ubuntu Mobile Edition Launcher (pictured here) which is an interface designed for small screens and keyboards and allows the internet and programs to be accessed fast.
This will be alot better for netbooks such as the EeePC and will replace distros such as eeeXubuntu.
Netbooks are cheap tiny laptops designed for accessing the internet, email and other basic tasks, and they are becoming more popular rapidly.
Canonical have announced on there site that they are “already working with a number of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to deliver the software into the market on devices later in 2008. Demonstration versions will be available at Computex.”
