The Wiz - the Handheld portable Linux gaming console

August 26, 2008

First came the Wii, now here is The Wiz.

The Wiz is a portable Linux gaming device, featuring a 533Mhz Arm processor with 3D, 64MB RAM and a touchscreen, all in a Game Boy Advanced Micro sized device.

It is Flash 7 compatible, and can be used to play videos, music, view comics and photos, read e-books, plan your day and most of all, game!

The controls resemble Sony’s Playstation controllers, with two crosses, each end of the cross acting as a button, and a menu and select button.
The Wiz is the new GP2x, and all old GP2x homebrew only needs to be recompiled for it to run on the Wiz.

The price of the console is yet to be announced however you can have a look at the brochure for more info, or visit the GP2x Store.
