Will Cuil Replace Google?
August 20, 2008
Cuil Is a new search engine who are challenging Google and claim to be the next big search engine.
Cuil (pronounced cool) have an index 3 times bigger then Google’s, searching over 121,617,892,992 web pages.
There site looks promising, however, I did a few searches and I got very bad results. I don’t think the quality of their searches can compare to Google, It seems to rank social services alot higher than Google, these social services only include a small amount of content, as there main function is to drive traffic to other sites.
While these have a lot of links, Google knows that they don’t have a lot of content and ranks them low, however all that Cuil sees is a site with lots of backlinks, and ranks it high.
However, Cuil has some cool features, like it includes pictures, And gets a good description of sites.
Will Cuil take over Google? No, once Google sees them as a threat we will see Google improve and dominate once again as our search engine.

Yeah, word on the street is that Cuil is, well, not so cool. I’ve heard so many bad reviews I haven’t even bothered to try it.
Yeah its never going to replace the “Big G”
