Google Chrome gets 3% of internet users in 2 days - more users than Opera
September 3, 2008

Google’s latest project, an internet browser named Chrome, has already converted 3% of internet users in only 2 days.
This is absolutely amazing as at the moment, it is only in BETA, only works with Windows, reportedly has redirect bugs and is only two days old !
Two days after launch, Google Chrome is more widely used than Opera and isn’t too far behind Apple’s browser, Safari (according to Clicky).
Google Chrome will more than likely will become the main internet browser, with such massive growth in such little time it is clear that there is a great want for it.
However, it appears that Google Chrome collects a lot of data of browser usage ! According the the Chrome website, In metrics_service.cc browser data is collects and sent to Google here
So at the moment I recommend you stay with Firefox or your current browser, that data collecting isn’t a good thing, and I recommend you just wait until we are explained exactly what is sent.

From Business Week today:
“Google’s Chrome by and large is defined to behave in a conventional manner when it comes to handling of privacy-sensitive data, including the provision of a “private browsing†mode similar to that in the latest version of Internet Explorer.”
Hi Rob!
If you read that again, you’ll notice that Business Week mean history that is saved to your PC, not data sent to Google.
My post links to a page on Google Chrome’s site that states they do collect data, however I read somewhere that they’re “Fixing it” and removing it from there TOS, I’ll comment here if I find the page again.
Google’s Chrome made easy your browsing mode similar to that in the latest version of Internet Explorer.
I dont like the sound of that, and I dont like google collecting data automaticially from my PC that I dont want to them collect. I would insist that they make this feature end-user selectable or I for one wont be installing chrome.
I’ve installed it, and used it a little bit. Honestly, I didn’t see anything to great about it…I’m still using firefox!

I would be weary to install it because of the EULA.
Even some work-places don’t allow it to be installed.
Google has done a really great job introducing a new browser to such competitive race! After using google chrome i can proudly say google has done a great job.
